Through September 9, MAINSITE Contemporary Art: Home of the Norman Arts Council presents two solo exhibitions from Oklahoma photographers Alex Emmons and Charles Rushton. Emmons’ House & Garden is a series of camera-less cyanotypes on paper and fabric, initially inspired by the early plant specimen photographs by Anna Atkins. Rushton’s collection of works entitled Oklahoma Stories is a collection of vignettes from across the state that invites viewers to expand upon the scene with captions and short stories. The Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma and Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs also present Journey of a Survivor in the Library Gallery.
MAINSITE Contemporary Art is open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 am to 4 pm.
